I can't believe it's almost 2017! Where in the world did 2016 go? Last year at this time I was wrapping up things in my studio as usual. A year later and I am now in a totally different place. I think about choices a lot and how they steer your life. This year was full of some pretty big ones.
I gave up my prime studio spot in downtown Ironwood. I moved to an office at the Downtown Artplace across the street and started working on an old mine building my husband bought for his trucking business. I decided that the office space there would make an excellent studio. Even though the windows were boarded and there was garbage in there up to the window sills I saw potential.
I worked for 6 weeks straight to clean out the garbage, fix the windows, paint and put in a new floor. Many friends and family stopped by and watched the progress. They may have thought I was a bit crazy taking on such an ambitious task but as it progressed I know they saw what I seen all along.
This is where I will be working in 2017. I'm changing gears and switching from an "all around photographer" and concentrating on portrait photography. I will be shooting ages 12-99+!
Keep an eye out for an open house when I can show off the new studio space and show you exactly what I am aiming to do! I hope you follow me in this journey and see the beauty that is within you!
